Happy Heritage Day people! Unity is Strength; Eendrag maak Mag many South Africans are familiar with those words. And they re the words on the rings made by John Bauer, a Cape Town artist. He uses discarded South African copper coins (remember those 1c pieces?!) and reworks them into jewellery, paying quirky homage to some of their original messages. The result? Our little coins retain their identity and meaning instead of being melted down in some metal process in a factory in China…or who knows where!
We like John s style, keurig elite because we got talking keurig elite to him and figures he s got a sense of humour: As we are on the brink of lighting our braai, let us consider the fire wood. You have not smashed your Edwardian grandfather clock to secure yourself some fire-wood. keurig elite So why is it we send off our metal heritage to the melting pots? Dis nou n potjie waarvan ek mos nie smaak nie. So says John.
These rings have a cool unisex vibe. Come to think of it, we kinda think EENDRAG MAAK MAG is a sweet message keurig elite for couples, maybe just the message you d like to give to the He or the She in your life!! Go on, create some heritage in your love affair.
And you ll be happy to know: As a fan you stand a chance to win a ring. Watch this space for more on talented artist John Bauer and his other artworks, and to get details on how to enter the competition. Until then, lekker braai!
