In 1986, Dutch wine merchant Bern Schneider, along with his brother John Schneider, have developed a unique concept ritzenhoff vacuum pump, which allows preservation of wine a longer period of time after being unfolded bottle. The invention was patented shortly after, and the commercial success of the device prompted the brothers to put up the company Vacu Vin BV. Today, the Vacu Vin is one of the most successful brands in the world, with more than 30 million sold vacuum ritzenhoff pumps.
Vacu Vin portfolio includes no less than thirty patents awarded at major exhibitions in the world, divided into three lines - Wine, Dine and Cooling (coolers and wine accessories and unique kitchen utensils), for both domestic use and professionals alike. Rapid Ice Cooler (Wine Cooler), Wine Tender (device for bag-in-box), Foil Cutter (knife hoods) and Melon Slicer are only a few successful examples of portfolio ritzenhoff Vacu Vin. The company, based in the Dutch city of Delft, currently holds an international distribution network over 70 countries, eight divisions of representation ritzenhoff abroad.
"We still feel like we just started the business, so we focus on investments for the future," says Stephan Schneider, the current General Manager of Vacu Vin, who took the post in 2001 from his father, Bern Schneider. "And though our distribution network operates globally, we want development and increasing its product portfolio. In recent years, we have changed ritzenhoff considerably goals and now we are focusing to launch 10 products each year, "adds Stephan Schneider.
Vacu Vin's success is due to policy does not compromise the primary values. "First of all, our success is based on primary as well as functionality, originality ritzenhoff and quality. Inspiration for creating new products Vacu Vin has several sources. Schneider explains, "Until now, the ideas came from product management and development departments of the company, following market research or from our consumers." But recently, Vacu Vin created in collaboration with SBS6 station, the television program "The best idea in the Netherlands", which attracts millions of viewers a week. This program provides an opportunity for talented people to present their inventions, the best being put into practice by the company Vacu Vin in less than three months.
