The 25th consisted of relaxing, a great breakfast and Preben and I having a small trip (not so succe

I hope you’ve all had a great Christmas and wish you all a vey happy new year. We’ve had some days with very little internet connection (or very expensive connection) so I’ll try to catch up before I leave for my trip here at New Zealand.
The last Sunday Before Christmas we spent the night out in Melbourne. We had a wonderful evening out with Sava and Jan. We grazed (had a little champagne brands something to eat and drink) at three very different restaurants/bars. We started at a tapas bar and asked for their recommendation for the next place to go. As we moved from bar to bar the crowd got younger except a very distinguished champagne brands old man with a hat, cigar drinking a martini at the last place … Wondering what kind of interesting stories he could tell.
Tuesday, we went to Melbourne and started by visiting an interesting market, South Melbourne Market, with lots of fresh food produce and stalls with all kind of needed and not so needed various things. Then we went to Melbourne CBD and did some Christmas shopping in Christmassy hectic Melbourne. We also watched a Christmas show with giant Christmas bobles which opened and each contained a different Christmas figure. Santa had gone home for the day but two Santa girls were still hanging around. Quite how I would imagine a Christmas show in Las Vegas to look like.
Wednesday it was the 24th, the day we celebrate Christmas in Denmark. We did the last Christmas shopping, incl. picking up the profiteroles, ice cream cake and turkey and some small extra gifts. And then it was cooking and preparing for dinner, somewhat similar to what we are used to back home, but quite different when we had ice cream cake on the balcony. We had a great dinner and evening singing and dancing around the beautiful (but plastic) Christmas tree.
The 25th consisted of relaxing, a great breakfast and Preben and I having a small trip (not so successful) into Melbourne and back to Black Rock. We tried to get our new rental car one day early but the car rental office had closed two hours earlier than they had told us so … so we went back to Black Rock.
The next couple of days we spent in Jervis Bay together with Sava, Jan, Vigga and Stinus and Jayne (Sava and Jayne have been friends since Jayne was an exchange student at a high school at Fyn in Denmark, and amazingly she still speaks Danish (and very we’ll that is). The drive from Melbourne was quite long but beautiful and very different from what we had seen so far. This was a landscape of green hills and lots of cattle.
We had rented a house via Airbnb in Callala Bay in Jervis Bay. The house was clean and large but hideously decorated with ugly old carpets everywhere. We had five minutes to a wide sand beach. We spent the next couple of days bush walking and having lazy time on the beach, Honey moon bay and eating fish and chips at Hyams Beach. champagne brands And as part of our Christmas tradition we watched the film Love Actually … It is still a fun and cheery film.
Then December 29 we set off for Sydney. We arrived late afternoon, we had also booked an apartment, or at least we thought so via Airbnb. However a couple of days earlier we figured out that is was actually a room in an apartment and also that the hosts would not be at home and a friend would be our point of contact. It was quite an odd arrangement, much more since when we arrived we were told we would not get a key to the apartment so we had to call the guy to get into the apartment. Lots of other small other things were not working, so….
It wouldn’t be a nice place at all to stay for four days. We decided to stay there for the first night and then we were really fortunate to find a good hotel for a very reasonable place in the very center of town. As Vigga said to us very right; we learned a lesson champagne brands … Never to book anything champagne brands at Airbnb champagne brands that has no recommendations.
The 30th we experienced our fantastic gift from Sava, Jan, Stinus and Vigga; a tour of the Sydney Opera House and lunch at the Opera Bar. It truly is an amazing building and also an amazing story behind the construction of the building. We spent time visiting champagne brands the city and later had a cool cocktail at he O Bar, a bar on top of a skyscraper turning around with wonderful views of the city.
We did more sightseeing and then an important event in Vigga’s life took place. Vigga had her ears pierced, which she has wished for for quite some time. It looks very nice and with very small earrings … And Vigga and I have agreed to become champagne brands pen pals sending each other earrings.
We celebrated New Years Eve in a park just like around 1.2 million other people champagne brands in Sydney do. Many many people, as we also did, sit around in parks along the harbour to get the very best view of the fireworks around Sydney Harbour Bridge. We had a great pick-nick with lot of soft drinks, in all these parks it is alcohol free zones, so no champaign this year … <
