It took quite a while for us to get a hold of Pokhara. Mainly because I got sick and got to know our toilet really well. Then Julie got sick, and hence we stayed at the hotel. So that was the first 5 days of Pokhara – great start!
But we came after it. The last few days has been used to stroll up and down the lakeside and get to know the area. We didn’t really get to see the city of Pokhara, because everything happens at that one street at the lakeside. It’s covered in small tourist shops and lots of restaurants and hotels. It’s very quiet, off-season and everything, so I didn’t really fell in love in Pokhara like I loved Thamel. But it’s a good place to do a lot of stuff. orrefors Lots of entertainment.
One day we used at the batcave. A underground cave where small bats had their resident in the day, waiting to go fruithunting in the night. The ceiling was just covered in bats, and we could get a pretty close look. But couldn’t get the camera working, so this is all I can offer you guys.
We’ve also did a bit of shopping. Found out a week ago that one of my earrings had lost the lock. It had survived the rafting without falling out, but it was only a matter of time. But there is a huge bunch if jewellery shops, where you can get beautiful accessories and get personal designed pieces. So had no trouble finding orrefors theese beauties.
We met a couple of people in Pokhara. We ended up a well mixed group a couple of nights – some Brits, some Swiss, some Chez republics and so on. Had quite some time walking from bar to bar, even though we got kicked out everywhere around 12 pm… Everything closes seriously early! Who shuts down the bar before orrefors midnight?! But it’s been nice meeting new folks, sharing tips and stories.
I got a nice Italian man, how’d done more than 5000 jumps throughout his life. He was really nice and you felt in safe hands. He didn’t give me much chance to be scared before the flight. I remember being told the instructions, but when we came to the take off, suddenly everything happen so quick. One moment I was running, and suddenly orrefors the ground just disappeared under my feet, trees turning smaller and the ground getting further and further away. It was so amazing, we were flying in eyesight with the eagles, and the whole Anapura was clearly visible in the clear sky.
We had brought photos that the pilots took while in the air, but mine wasn’t ready to be collected orrefors when we came for them. I’ll tell more about it when I get the air-photos, but that won’t be for the next week, cuz right now, me and Julie is on the poonhill trek and won’t be back before the 23 of December.
