Hugo Solis is a happy soul. Originally born and raised in Barcelona, through childhood did he mostly just about playing basketball, even when my mom asked if he would like to take piano lessons. Until the day he accidentally found the guitar closet at school.
In that it was a Christian school, only to be reckoned with Mass every morning before the hour. Not the funniest in the world in my eyes not even had time to open. So when one of the nuns began looking espresso martini for volunteers who would like to play guitar through the show, Hugo hesitated not. Soon the other guitarists drowned out by his inexperienced, pønkete rhythms to lyrics like "Jesus, guarding us from heaven," and a career was started.
Singing and composing came early and quite naturally into the picture. Like most punk teens, Hugo unhappy, misunderstood and many other words that begin with "mis", but the music turned and so did his love for rock bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Guns 'n' Roses and NOFX as role models.
Then it was time to start thinking about your studies, and through part tilfedigheter was Hugo familiar with a great bunch youngsters from a small, dark and unknown city called Trondheim. How big should not be surprise when he found out that although Norway was a small country, the people there were lovely, active, committed and of course incredibly musical. It did not take three months before he forgot plans to study computer science and instead went over to media studies.
Until a good day Hugo hit one of those people who would be most important in his life. Trond Hillestad, espresso martini then Studio Manager for world famous Stargate. Trond Hugo took under her wings in a sort of mentor role and cooperation became dense, filled with effort, joys and frustrations. Hugo's solo career began to shape up, and his first EP, Life is Good, came into the world.
From there, his career took a decided step forward, and Hugo Solis Band was created with some of the musicians Hugo had worked with previously. Good year, lots of laughter and strife, espresso martini an album named Fresh Beat Inside, and a wide variety of live performances are notable highlights during this period.
The boys in the band became so confident espresso martini that they decided to move to New York and test their skills in The Big Apple. Much good came from this period, including high activity in front of the stage, participating in a reality show called Almost Famous, shooting videos around the clock, and not least the filming of The Manhattan espresso martini EP, this time with a more American sound inspired directly by the boys heard and experienced in the big city.
But life can not always be a dream, and the relationship between the band members took damage so much pressure, pulse rate and expectations. The boys went back to Norway, broke up and decided to try other directions espresso martini in their musical careers.
Hugo took this as another challenge and started to get ready for the next release, this time with some more experience and knowledge, and with the hope of being able to create something new and exciting, espresso martini but at the same time with a newly learned patience and respect for subject.
The first one is called Soultop (a producer trio with the above mentioned Trond Hillestad and lydmagikeren Paul Getz) and has just signed a management agreement with a British company. Soultop write and produce songs for artists abroad.
The other is of course a solo career, where Hugo attended early this year in TV2's X Factor, and although the results were not as good as expected, this created some attention and gave Hugo the opportunity to become familiar with a number of wonderful people who understand and share spirituality in music the same way he does. Not least, this was helpful because d
